Some of the topics covered in panels, speeches, and demonstrations this year included e-discovery, legal IT, outsourcing, email, litigation technology, and general management.
On the first day, keynote speaker David A. Thomas, Deputy Assistant Director of the Science and Technology Branch of the FBI, spoke on the subject of data security with regard to Internet crimes.
Speakers for the last day included John J. Rosenthal, Partner at Howrey, LLP; Ronald K. Perkowski, Senior Counsel for Halliburton Company; and Jason Priebe, Corporate Counsel for Allstate Insurance Company. The title of their presentation was "Persuading the Bean-Counters: Effective Arguments for Legal Enterprise Technology."
Among the 285 exhibitors that flocked to the conference to showcase their goods and get their names out among legal professionals are BlackBerry, Google, Inc., JD Journal, LexisNexis, Sprint, and Xerox Corporation.
Described as "the largest and most important legal technology event of the year," LegalTech is both a tradeshow and an educational seminar rolled into one.
