The employee, Susan McBride, filed the lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Detroit on Tuesday after McBride's co-worker transferred into her department, wore a strongly scented perfume, and used a scented room deodorizer.
"Ms. McBride was overcome by the smell almost instantly, causing her to go home sick," said the lawsuit.
According to an article on www.abcnews.go.com, McBride's lawsuit states that "the work environment [was] in violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act" and that "she wants a ban on such scents at work and unspecified damages."
While "the co-worker later agreed to stop using the room deodorizer," states an article on www.chicagotribune.com, she "kept using perfume."
