Tuesday, America voted Obama to be our next president, and in the wake of other candidates confronting defeat, those who lost are gearing up for defamation suits and the like. Remember all the hateful advertising thrown at opposing candidates? That's what most of this is about.
Affects of the Heller Ehrman dissolution back in late September keep appearing and other firms are reaping the rewards of the old firm's downfall. Several firms have scooped up the fallen's associates and brought them on board. These include
Winston & Strawn and Dechert. While Winston & Strawn snagged several of the displaced from Heller,
Dechert grabbed former Heller chairman Matt Larrabee.
California residents narrowly voted to approve Prop 8. While proponents are obviously happy about that, many are not and are voicing their opinions through lawsuits – a lot of them. Other challenges are sure to arise, too.
