The Western Tradition Partnership, a non profit corporation based in Denver and Champion Painting, a Bozeman, Montana company owned by a member of the local Tea Party, filed suit on Monday challenging the law.
Montana's law prohibits a corporation from making ''...a contribution or an expenditure in connection with a candidate or a political committee that supports or opposes a candidate or a political party.'' The lawsuit only challenges the ban on expenditures, not the prohibition on direct contributions.

Attorney General for Montana, has been critical of the
Citizens United ruling. His office stated that it couldn't comment until it received a copy of the lawsuit.
