Freyre brings more than 25 years of legal experience to the position. She most recently served as the Senior Vice President and
Deputy General Counsel for Legal and Strategic Affairs at the Nielsen Company, which is a global information services company. Her duties at Nielson included managing critical contracts and
developing client and industry relationships. She was also heavily involved in the company's political and governmental concerns.
Before joining Nielsen, Freyre was a partner at the New York-based Coudert Brothers LLP, where she was involved the management of the Latin American practice. Her
legal career had its beginnings in Mudge Rose Guthrie Alexander & Ferdon, LLP's New York and Paris office locations.
Freyre was born in Havana, Cuba and is trilingual in English, Spanish, and French. She holds both a JD and a LL.M. from Georgetown University. She has a DEJG from the Universite de Droit, d'Economie et des Sciences Sociales de Paris. She earned her bachelor's degree from Wellesley College, where she double-majored in history and political science.
