Spadaro, who is a known animal rights activist, was found culpable of 16 out of 19 counts including professional misconduct, moral turpitude, failure to communicate, violation of client trust fund account rules and failure to perform competently.
Most complaints from former clients in cases of bankruptcy, home-loan modification, avoiding foreclosure or eviction mentioned that Spadaro took money from clients, but missed filing deadlines and court appearances.
She has already been convicted in one animal cruelty case in San Bernardino County and is facing further animal cruelty charges in Riverside and San Bernardino counties. She has pleaded not guilty in the cases.
The ongoing Riverside case against her concerns a kennel on 1.5 acres of property she does not own.
In another case earlier this year her appeal had been denied by the State Bar court on a complaint of another animal activist who said that Spadaro had borrowed money from her to help with animal shelters. Since the complainant was a client of Spadaro, the court ruled the transaction illegal. Spadaro refused to enter into a plea-bargain and said the woman was never been her client.
Thursday's order said Spadaro was barred from practicing law in California and her name "is stricken from the roll of attorneys." The court did not issue any opinion in the matter.
