On Tuesday, Attorney General Jason Miyares declared that his office will take part in the 17th edition of the "Legal Food Frenzy" (LFF), an event that brings together law firms and legal organizations from across Virginia in a collaborative effort to collect funds and food for food banks in the state. The Federation of Virginia Food Banks, the Young Lawyers Division of the Virginia Bar Association, and the Virginia Office of the Attorney General are among the organizers this year.
The Office of the Attorney General stated that the competition is a well-established custom within Virginia's legal fraternity, and Attorney General Miyares extends an invitation to law firms, law schools, legal organizations, and business attorneys to join and register. The victors will be offered an opportunity to attend an awards reception in Richmond this summer, hosted by Attorney General Miyares. The prestigious "AG Cup" will also be presented to the triumphant team by Attorney General Miyares.
“The Legal Food Frenzy is an opportunity for Virginia’s legal community to come together and make a difference across the Commonwealth. As costs continue to rise, thousands of Virginia families are facing inflationary stresses and food insecurity. Furthermore, rising food and distribution costs and extended supply chain delays are forcing Virginia’s food banks to purchase more products than in previous years, putting them in a very difficult position,” said Attorney General Miyares. “That’s why this Legal Food Frenzy initiative is so important. No one should ever have to go to bed hungry.”
