Jenner & Block Hires Prominent Litigator Joanna Wright from Boies Schiller Flexner
Jenner & Block, a prominent U.S. law firm, is adding another partner to its team from Boies Schiller Flexner. This litigator, Joanna Wright, was previously on Boies Schiller's executive committee and was part of a leadership reorganization over two years ago. On Monday, Wright will join Jenner as a partner in the firm's New York office. She is the sixth partner to leave Boies Schiller for Jenner since 2020.

According to Lee Wolosky, a lead Jenner litigator and Boies Schiller alumnus, Wright is an exceptional litigator and crisis manager. Wright confirmed in an interview that Wolosky was one of her mentors.

Joanna Wright was involved in a lawsuit representing plaintiffs who temporarily halted Louisiana's "trigger" laws that prohibited abortion. This lawsuit marked the first time a ruling in the U.S. prevented the implementation of a state's constitutionally vague "trigger bans," according to Jenner & Block.

In December 2020, Wright was chosen as one of the partners to help lead Boies Schiller, a law firm co-founded by prominent lawyer David Boies. This appointment occurred shortly after Nick Gravante, the co-managing partner, left Boies Schiller for Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft. Lee Wolosky, who joined Jenner in February 2020, was among the many lawyers who left Boies Schiller for other firms.

Joanna Wright mentioned that specific opportunities arise naturally that one cannot refuse, explaining her decision to join Jenner.
