The Position:

- Legal Assistant role in the dynamic Professional Liability team
- Supports three attorneys
- Requires excellent multitasking and organization skills
- Minimum of 5 years litigation legal assistant experience, including experience filing in state and federal courts

Duties/Responsibilities:

- Organize and maintain original documents and electronic files in PerfectLaw
- Schedule meetings and deadlines, maintain attorney calendars
- Perform administrative operations such as trust deposits, check requests, and expense reimbursements
- File documents with courts and other government entities
- Compile legal documents for client transmission
- Assess project/matter deliverables and requirements
- Draft, proofread, and finalize legal documents
- Compose correspondence/responses related to legal matters
- Track status of tasks and documents requiring action
- Contact state and federal agencies
- Communicate with clients as needed

Required Skills/Abilities:

- 5+ years of litigation legal assistant experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Self-starter, professional, and team player
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, flowcharting programs, background and public record searches
- Familiarity with electronic filings and document management systems
