Job Overview:

A law firm based in Buffalo, NY, seeks a highly skilled and motivated Attorney to join their dynamic team. Successful candidates will manage their cases while collaborating closely with Team Leaders. This role involves representing clients and carriers in court, handling various aspects of litigation, and having specialized experience in construction litigation defense.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee individual caseloads from inception through resolution.
• Report to clients and carriers regarding case progress and developments.
• Appear in court for conferences, motions, and hearings.
• Comply with discovery requests and manage case documentation.
• Take and defend depositions, including handling complex deposition issues.
• Coordinate and schedule medical examinations and expert testimonies.
• Prepare and file motions and legal briefs.
• Handle cases involving construction, premises, products liability, and general liability.
• Address and resolve issues related to Labor Law Sections 240(1) and 241(6).
• Manage and resolve contractual indemnification issues between parties.
• Demonstrate strong experience and proficiency in Labor Law depositions.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the New York Bar is required; New Jersey, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania Bars are a plus.
• Substantive experience in construction litigation defense, including Labor Law and indemnification cases.
• Proven track record of handling complex deposition and litigation matters.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• New York State Bar License required.
• Additional Bar Licenses in New Jersey, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania are a plus.
