Duties:

• Represent clients in civil litigation matters, specifically insurance defense cases
• Develop and implement strategic defense plans for litigation
• Manage all phases of litigation, including discovery, motions, trials, and appeals
• Work closely with clients to provide legal advice and guidance throughout the litigation process
• Prepare and present cases in court, including first-chair trial responsibilities
• Collaborate with other attorneys and legal professionals to provide comprehensive legal solutions
• Negotiate settlements and manage client relationships effectively
• Ensure compliance with legal procedures and regulations

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in insurance defense litigation
• Proven courtroom experience, including first-chair trial experience
• Strong understanding of South Carolina substantive and procedural law and federal procedural rules
• Ability to develop litigation strategies and evaluate case exposures
• Exceptional client relationship and communication skills

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
• Active membership in the South Carolina Bar (or eligibility for reciprocity)

Certifications:

• South Carolina Bar admission (Required)
