A law firm in Greensboro, NC, is seeking a dedicated Social Security Disability Attorney to manage a caseload of Social Security disability cases from the initial stage through hearings. The role requires active involvement in all phases of client representation, from case development to appellate advocacy. The ideal candidate will have strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills, with a demonstrated commitment to advocating for disabled clients. This position offers significant responsibility and collaboration with a team dedicated to ensuring client success.

Duties:

• Personally handle a caseload of Social Security disability cases from the initial stage through the hearing level.
• Assist and provide guidance to paralegals with their Social Security disability caseloads.
• Conduct extensive client interaction, including intake review and ongoing communication throughout the case process.
• Review and summarize detailed medical records to build strong cases.
• Prepare briefs and requests for on-the-record decisions to secure favorable outcomes for clients.
• Prepare clients for hearings and represent them before Administrative Law Judges.
• Advocate on behalf of disabled clients during hearings, including opening and closing statements and cross-examination of vocational witnesses.
• Engage in all phases of client representation, including office conferences, case development, hearings, and appellate advocacy.
• Collaborate with fellow attorneys and team members to ensure comprehensive representation.
• Maintain a thorough familiarity with Social Security regulations, POMS, HALLEX, and case records.

Requirements:

• Licensed to practice law in any state and in good standing with the State Bar.
• Minimum of 2+ years of experience practicing Social Security Disability Law.
• Advanced analytical and research skills with a strong understanding of Social Security regulations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively empathize with clients.
• Strong client advocacy skills with experience in preparing and representing clients in hearings.
• Highly organized with the ability to handle deadlines and manage time efficiently.
• Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment, working independently and as part of a team.
• Demonstrated commitment to improving the lives of disabled clients.
• Positive, can-do attitude with a desire to assume significant responsibility.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Must be licensed to practice law in any state and in good standing with the State Bar.
