Job Overview: A law firm in Jackson, MS, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Personal Injury Litigation Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will provide legal representation to clients involved in personal injury cases, with a focus on auto accidents and premise liability. The attorney will be responsible for guiding clients through the legal process, evaluating case merits, conducting legal proceedings, and negotiating settlements.

Job Details:

  • Answers client’s questions and guides them through the personal injury process.
  • Ensures proper legal representation in all auto accident and premise liability cases.
  • Works collaboratively with experts and partners to evaluate the merits of potential cases and develop case theories.
  • Prepares witnesses and claimants for hearings, trials, depositions, oral arguments, mediations, arbitrations, and other proceedings.
  • Takes depositions of the claimant, physicians, medical experts, and other involved parties.
  • Conducts discovery, drafts pleadings, findings of fact, motions, briefs, opinions, and other legal documents.
  • Negotiates settlements on behalf of the claimant.
  • Performs any other duties as assigned and related to the position.

Requirements:

  • Four (4) year College Degree from an accredited College or University.
  • Three (3) years of Law School.
  • Must have obtained a Mississippi license to practice law by passing the Bar exam and be in good standing with the Mississippi Bar.
  • 3-5 years of related experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Spanish speaking is a plus.

Skills:

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple and complex instructions, short and long correspondence, and memos.
  • Clear and concise communication skills.
  • Effective advocacy for positions or causes.
  • Drafting effective legal documents such as motions, briefs, memorandums, resolutions, and legal agreements.
  • Develops logical thinking, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities.

Education:

  • Four (4) year College Degree from an accredited College or University.
  • 3 years of Law School.
