Job Overview:

A law firm is seeking a skilled Defense Construction Litigation Labor Law Attorney to join their team in Buffalo, NY. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience handling defense cases related to construction litigation, with a strong focus on Labor Law Sections 240(1) and 241(6). The attorney will be responsible for various duties, including client and carrier reporting, court appearances, discovery compliance, depositions, medical examination coordination, and motion preparation and filing.

Job Duties:

• Handle cases involving Labor Law Sections 240(1) and 241(6).
• Manage contractual indemnification issues between parties.
• Report to clients and carriers regularly.
• Appear in court for conferences and motions.
• Comply with discovery requirements.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Coordinate medical examinations.
• Prepare and file motions.

Job Requirements:

• Active membership in the New York Bar.
• Membership in New Jersey, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania Bars is a plus.
• Strong experience in Labor Law depositions.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the New York State Bar.
• Additional state bar admissions (New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania) are advantageous.

Skills:

• Expertise in construction litigation defense.
• In-depth knowledge of Labor Law Sections 240(1) and 241(6).
• Proficiency in handling contractual indemnification issues.
• Strong deposition skills.
• Excellent client communication and reporting skills.
