'An immigration paralegal is someone who works on immigration law matters under the supervision of licensed attorneys. Immigration paralegals do not practice law, as they are not licensed attorneys, but they help in many aspects of immigration law matters, including those involving citizenship and business immigration issues, political asylum, and the securing of travel, work and student visas. An immigration paralegal is also sometimes called an immigration legal assistant, and immigration paralegals assist the immigration lawyers for whom they work as much as possible within the bounds of legal and ethical rules.
