What would you, or others, like to see changed at employer?
As a former client, I would like to see much stronger communication, accountability, transparency, and client-centered advocacy. Clients should receive timely responses, regular case updates, clear explanations of legal strategy and billing, and confidence that their interests—not the convenience or preferences of other parties—are the attorney’s priority.
What were the things that you liked most about this employer?
I appreciated that the firm agreed to represent me during a complicated and emotionally difficult estate and trust dispute. However, that initial benefit was ultimately outweighed by the problems I experienced during the representation.
What did you not like about this institution?
I was most dissatisfied with the communication, responsiveness, and overall client service. I often did not feel heard or prioritized, and I lacked confidence that my stated interests were driving the representation. Given the substantial financial and emotional stakes, I expected clearer guidance, consistent updates, greater transparency, and stronger advocacy. I ultimately changed attorneys because I had lost confidence in the representation.
People, departments, offices, products, services and whatever comes to mind that should be avoided at this institution
Based solely on my personal experience, I would avoid retaining Andy Mauck or Mauck & Brooke, PLC for a sensitive estate or trust dispute. I did not feel adequately heard, prioritized, or advocated for and ultimately changed attorneys after losing confidence in the representation.
How could this employer run its business to employees or the public better?
The firm could serve clients better by establishing clear response-time expectations, providing written case strategies and regular updates, explaining fees and major decisions before acting, and creating an effective process for addressing client concerns. Attorneys should ensure that clients feel heard, informed, respected, and confident that their objectives are guiding the representation.
