In 1935, Jimmy Gass became a partner in the firm, alongside Mr. Barrett, who had also been a partner for some time. Around the same period, the firm expanded its reach with the opening of a new office in Wilmslow, where Eddie Crossland joined the team. Initially, the Wilmslow office only operated on Fridays for appointments, but it soon grew to accommodate the increasing demand for legal services.

However, his legal journey was briefly interrupted when he was called up for national service in the Royal Air Force.
