The firm's story began when Roger Labrie passed the Massachusetts Bar and started practicing law in his home on Ward Street while working full time as an insurance claims manager. In 1966, Labrie and Rudy LeBel purchased a lot with a building from Dr. Arthur LaRochelle, Jr. Labrie then moved his practice to the building at 639 Grattan Street, sharing the space with LeBel Insurance Agency. He also convinced his wife, Louise, to join him, leaving her prestigious position at Buckley, Richardson, Ryan & Gelinas in Springfield.

Roger Pouliot, a Chicopee native, soon joined the firm, and the building was expanded to accommodate the growing business. Labrie & Pouliot became a well-known name in the community, providing comprehensive legal services to individuals and businesses alike. In 1982, Roger's sons, Michael and Gary, joined the firm after graduating from WNE Law School and WNE Business School, respectively. Michael became a practicing attorney, while Gary took on the role of the firm's business manager.
