Brint Hiatt loves the energy that comes with entrepreneurship, having been an entrepreneur for most of his career. He loves working with small business owners, entrepreneurs, and inventors to cultivate their ideas and help them grow into solid businesses. He started his first business in high school, running a successful landscaping company, and then got started working in technology industries in 2005, writing business plans and giving presentations to investors for a startup video game company. Both before and after becoming an attorney, he has had many successes, and also some pretty hard failures, and he’s learned more from the failures than from the successes.
In 2009, he began his legal journey when he attended the University of Hawaii, obtaining his JD/MBA, magna cum laude, in 2012, with a focus in global entrepreneurship and intellectual property law. He then attended Duke Law School in Durham, NC, obtaining a Master of Laws (LLM), cum laude, in 2014, where he was given advanced training on advising entrepreneurial clients and venture capital financing. Since then, he has worked in-house in several startup companies, wearing many different hats, like any other entrepreneur, having responsibilities in operations, analytics, sales, marketing, business development, and finance, in addition to legal responsibilities.
