Overview

Our Firm was founded in 1950 as Cobourn Notnagel Smith & Moran, by Frank M. Cobourn, Leland H. Notnagel, Fred A. Smith and Edward R. Moran, prominent attorneys in the areas of business and corporate law, civil litigation, and taxation. Vernon E. Rohrbacher, the father of Matthew Rohrbacher – one of the senior members of the firm, was one of the firm’s first associates when the firm was founded and the Rohrbacher name has been part of the firm since the 1960s.

We had many name changes over the more than 70 years since then and adopted Rohrbacher Trimble & Zimmerman Co., L.P.A. in March, 2023.

Our years of experience before judges and juries in both the state and federal courts have given us a foundation in courtroom excellence that puts us at the forefront of the legal community. Our tough-minded advocacy on behalf of our clients and our courtroom experience enables us to help our clients reach a successful resolution with the opposing lawyer through negotiation and settlement. When the matter is not resolved before trial, we are committed to providing the highest level of advocacy available to advance the interests of our clients, whether at trial or upon appeal. We have achieved remarkable results for our clients at trial.

We Have proudly represented some of the country’s largest insurance carriers as well as the Midwest’s “homegrown” regional insurers in matters involving a wide array of underlying subjects.
