The Law Office of Robert W. Thompson

Overview

Robert W. Thompson was born in Baltimore, Maryland to Thomas, a steelworker at Bethlehem Steel Plant, and Rose Thompson, a housewife and mother to four boys. He was raised in Baltimore County, and attended local public schools.

At 19 years of age, Mr. Thompson enlisted in the United States Army, and served three years during the Vietnam War. For his service, he earned a National Defense Service Medal, a Vietnam Service Medal, an Army Good Conduct Medal, an Army Commendation Medal, and a Bronze Star Medal for heroic achievement. Mr. Thompson was wounded in combat in Vietnam, and earned a Purple Heart.
Mr. Thompson was able to attend college at the University of Maryland College Park with help from the G.I. Bill, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in American Studies. After college, he attended the University of Maryland School of Law, where he distinguished himself as a member of the Law Review and graduated with honors. He began his long legal career in service to others as a student in the Maryland Law Clinic.

Mr. Thompson lives in Anne Arundel County with his wife, a retired special education teacher in the public school system. Mr. Thompson and his wife have one daughter, who was inspired by her father's passion for helping others to also become an attorney.
